We're staying at the Holiday Inn on Lime Street. Check in is after 3pm, check out is 11am on Sunday. Breakfast and room service isn't included, so if you want any extras just pay for them. Taxi is the quickest option to and from the airport, but if you're a cheap bastard and don't mind a walk, the 500 airport bus runs from Liverpool ONE station to the airport.
Ghetto Golf (off Grafton St)is booked for 2.40pm on the Friday. You can drink and eat there so the plan is to go straight here from the airport (so pack light). I've paid for it already so you just need to give me a tenner each on Friday. We have to be there by 2.10pm and you're not allowed to wear any 'sportswear' apart from trainers, apparently.
Here's just some golf banter and tomfoolery that we can partake in.
Wine tasting is booked for 2.30pm on Saturday at Veeno on Castle Street. It's £20 per head, payable on the day.
Here's what your £20 gets you: "In our ‘Classic’ Wine Tasting experience you’ll enjoy two white wines and three reds paired with our authentic spuntini (appetisers) to share on a delicious sharing platter. Finally, you will taste a sweet wine with our homemade Italian tiramisù."
For those who've not been wine tasting before, I've compiled this simple 'Do's and Don'ts' chart which you can save to your phones for reference.
Indian Restaurant - The Remora
We're booked in for dinner at the Remora at 6pm on the Saturday - here's a link to the menu. It's bring your own so you can just take in whatever you want to drink. Corkage is a flat rate of £2 per head and they can only take cash payments at the moment due to a system upgrade or something.... We can just split the food bill evenly between us, so if you've ever had a hankering for lobster-tikka or caviar vindaloo, this could be your moment.
Bars and other shite
On Friday we can go to Riley's sports bar while waiting on Ross and Hugh to get in. It's a pool/snooker/sports bar and is only 10 mins walk from the hotel. They also do pub grub. After that we can head to Mathew Street (Cavern etc) and go from there.
On the Saturday, between wine tasting and the Indian, Chris suggested we go to Heebie Jeebies, which is a relatively short walk from the Indian. They have live music 3-6pm on Saturdays and (this is the important bit) former LFC dreamboat, Xabi Fucking Alonso, used to always go out there when he lived in Liverpool!
At some stage we will be visiting the Cilla statue for a moment of quiet prayer and selfies. And on Sunday, if you're not flying out early, Graeme wants to go on a beatles tour.
Should you want or need guns, drugs, lappers or whores, you'll need to find them of your own volition.
